New clinic location coming Spring 2025

About Vitality Veterinary Services

Vitality Veterinary Services is a mixed animal practice serving Yorkton and area. Owned by Drs. Leuraunt Trach and Brittany Johnsgaard, VVS has been offering both large and small animal services since 2019. Expanding services in a new facility coming soon.

Our History

Yorkton, SK, became home for Drs. Trach and Johnsgaard in the fall of 2019, which is also when Vitality Veterinary Services (VVS) was founded. VVS began as an ambulatory veterinary service, ran primarily by Dr. Trach and based out of the couple’s home. What started out as a hopeful business venture quickly snowballed into something much more demanding than what Dr. Trach was able to handle on his own.

Dr. Johnsgaard worked at another mixed animal practice in the area for the first year after arriving in Yorkton. As the realization dawned that VVS was turning into something that required more, Dr. Johnsgaard joined forces with Dr. Trach, and the couple moved the business into a small rental space on Smith Street, where you currently find them. This allowed for the expansion of staff to help meet the growing clientele and gave a physical location for clients to bring their small/companion animals into. VVS has been operating out of that space since March of 2022 and is quickly outgrowing it.

Leuraunt and Brittany - Owners

As many may already be aware, VVS is again in the process of undergoing an expansion, this time a major one! Construction is well underway on the new MIXED ANIMAL veterinary clinic, located on Highway 9 North (at the airport turnoff), with completion expected for spring 2025. We will still offer services similar to what we have been offering, but there will also be MORE! The new clinic will be equipped with indoor large animal handling facilities, which means that many large animal procedures can and will be performed in the clinic rather than on-farm. Large animal farm calls will occur on a case-by-case basis. Small animal services will continue to be in-clinic only, as they have been since being in the current location. The big change on the small animal side will be the addition of enhanced diagnostic (x-ray) and treatment (dentistry) capabilities. At-home euthanasia will also continue as is.

For the time being, however, the location and services remain the same: 38 Smith Street West (across from Minute Muffler). Small animal appointments are in-clinic only, and large animal services are all on-farm. Hours of operation continue to be 9 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with 24/7 after-hour services. If you have any questions, please contact 306-782-VETS (8387).
